- Something which could spark an emotion or create a bit of controversy -e.g. Katie Hopkins.
- Maybe something funny.
- Something with an important person -famous.
- Has to have a wide appeal.
- Has to effect us as a gender, race etc.
- Changes in genre.
- Music or television news.
- If it will create fear.

This story is made news worthy because it would spark a reaction out of someone, in this case the reaction is humour. It is recent news that is interesting and it is about a famous person following their break down which would give it a wide appeal. It would wonder why he did it. It makes them seem flawed like everyone else.
