Focus Group Feedback (Summarised)
From this feedback I gathered that the purpose and the impact on our audience were plus points in our advert, we engaged people and made them laugh forming an emotional response which persuaded the person as a viewer to use 4G. The advert contained enough information for the viewer but it was let down by the technical issues with the green screen. I also saw that an area we could have improved on was the care for camera shots and to make sure to center and focus things in the frame before editing. Finally I gathered that overall the sound was quite good but it could have been improved in some areas by adjusting the volume. Overall this was good constructive criticism and our advert received mostly positive feedback from this response.

This response was more detailed which helped me gather more information and useful feedback. From this information I could see that we managed to engage our audience making them laugh and possible be able to relate to the funny/awkward scenario which may have persuaded them to switch to 4G. The purpose for our advert came across quite well however they got confused in some points in the advert, they felt it was relevant but it could have improved by adding more facts/information about 4G and making the character's clearer. Again I found that they thought the things that let us down were the technical effectiveness -the green screen being a resounding factor. I gathered that although the advert was easy to understand it lacked information and the issues with the green screen were displeasing. They feel we could have improved for next time by using a big green screen and also making sure that our clothes didn't clash as some of the shots cut bits of the actor's faces off. Finally they liked our use of sound as it was clear and the dialogue was funny so again it was good feedback.

From this last response we see again that the content is fit for the purpose, making it easily understandable and relevant because of the characters and what they represent. The impact on our audience much like the other responses found the advert funny, however I also got that this person felt that the advert was too long which made them get bored making it lack in emotional response. From this feedback I see that the understanding was good but again they would have liked a bit more information on 4G. Finally the technical effectiveness again was a factor that they commented on saying that the initial idea was good but that it didn't work as well as we'd hoped, and that next time they would have liked to see more camera shots and different camera angles. Overall a fairly balanced effective response.

  1. Unit 30 & 5 Evaluation Feedback
    Distinction
The evaluation on your powerpoint is detailed and analyses the production process in an informed way. You consider feedback, mainly from focus groups, and this informs your opinions of the process in addition to giving you ideas on where you may improve next time - for example reshoots. You discuss the brief and the challenges this brought to your idea creation and then onto the production. This discussion is correct because you clearly understand the nature of the brief - you also use good terminology - well done. Finally you compare your advert with a current EE advert, this is good analysis and you take into consideration important factors such as time, budget and experience. Well done.
